The European Parliament and the Council of the European Union ( EU ) issued directive 2002/95/EC known as the Restriction of Hazardous Substances ( RoHS ). This directive restricts the use of certain Substances in the manufacture of Electrical and Electronic components. The legislation came into force on 1st July 2006.
The maximum concentration values of the restricted substances by weight in homogenous materials are as follows:
Lead 0.1%
Mercury 0.1%
Hexavalent Chromium 0.1%
Polybrominated Biphenyls 0.1%
Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers 0.1%
Cadmium 0.01%
Mercury 0.1%
Hexavalent Chromium 0.1%
Polybrominated Biphenyls 0.1%
Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers 0.1%
Cadmium 0.01%
We work closely with our business partners to ensure compliance, and we have taken all reasonable steps to confirm suppliers' statements regarding the absence of the restricted substances, and maintain a full audit trail of relevant documentation to support this. We have introduced the suffix RC to our part numbers togeth- er with product labeling for all new compliant products to identify and segregate compliant stock.
